Flipping for Oscar
Inside Flipboard / March 1, 2014
It’s time to put the finishing touches on your Oscar picks, get your hors d’oeuvres ready and put that bubbly on ice—the Academy Awards air this Sunday. Ellen DeGeneres returns for the first time in seven years as host, and The Wizard of Oz will celebrate its 75th anniversary in the presence of Judy Garland’s children. Pink will be there, plus all the Best Song nominees will perform their numbers, including U2, Pharrell, Karen O. from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Idina Menzel, who will sing “Let It Go” from Frozen (reason alone to let the kids stay up past their bedtime).
We’ve got special sections to help you follow along, in English and, for the first time, Spanish. (With Mexico’s Alfonso Cuarón up for Best Director for Gravity, we thought there might be special interest this year from readers in the U.S. and Latin America.) Start flipping now to inform your picks and get situated with the scene; then after the show, catch up on what went down, what they wore, and more.
